It’s an amazing place to tour. Check out their trip! Of course Theodore likes the place because of the decorative Thistle art and products, from bath mats to vases to dishware. They strolled the beautiful gardens just beginning to show the new green with daffodils, tulips, and lilacs.

Then, while traveling through the beautiful region of New York, lo and behold, the crew saw yet another Thistle themed site in Cooperstown, NY. The Rose and Thistle Bed & Breakfast where one can stay while visiting the National Baseball Hall of Fame and the Farmers Museum, or the Leatherstocking Railway Historical Society rail excursion.

Let’s all remember while we are out enjoying the beautiful countryside this summer, that we need to be thankful for Theodore Thistle’s friends: Winnie Windshield, Billy Backglass, and the vivacious Sierra Sideglass. They protect us each and everyday while we drive about. Please remember to clean the inside of your vehicle’s glass too. Keep the hair marks, finger prints, and errant sneezes cleaned off. It will only aid in better and clearer vision.

Our next trip will be traveling to Pennsylvania where you can find Theodore’s relatives - bull thistle (cirsium vulgare), musk thistle (carduus nu tans), and plume less thistle (carduus acanthoides). Plus, he is on the lookout for an endangered butterfly that looks a lot like a Monarch, but it’s not. It’s the Regal Fritillary. Only a few remain as the Regal Fritillary requires open damp meadows, old fields or pastures with marshy or boggy patches which also support the violets, milkweeds thistles and other nectar sources the animal requires. It’s habitat in Southern Pennsylvania and other Appalachia Mountain regions are being decimated. The adults feed on the nectar of the milkweeds and thistles. Further study is necessary before listing this ancient North American species as a federal endangered or threatened species. See how important thistle’s are?

Milk Thistle Farms

Last month, Theodore Thistle, Winnie Windshield, and the whole gang traveled to upstate New York near the Hudson. Check out their visit to Milk Thistle Farm. Who knew that what a cow eats reflects what the milk will taste like? Certain grasses will yield a certain sweetness or sourness to the taste of milk. That’s the nature of an organic milk farm. Most of us drink the same tasting milk because the cows are fed the same thing day in and day out.

Another interesting thing is that the vehicles they have on the farm have their vehicle glass protection. Their two pick up trucks, tanker, and SUV, all have glass protection. Winnie Windshield and Sierra Sideglass are both relieved about that.

With spring comes all things new in this part of the world. The new growth has Theodore Thistle all excited as his relatives will all be sprouting up again – dotting the countryside with their purple and white flowers. As you travel this spring, looking out the windshield and door glass of your vehicle, remember to look at the beauty around you.

Theodore Thistle’s next trip takes him to a place where thistles truly become an art form. He’ll be visiting the headquarters of Mackenzie-Childs in Aurora, NY. You can stroll their beautiful gardens and then see all their thistle designed products, from bath mats to vases to dishware. Theodore is excited about this trip.

Go Fly A Kite and Time to Travel

Go Fly A Kite!

Theodore Thistle is soooooo happy that the spring like weather has returned. His green lush prickly leaves are coming out again. So much so that he went and flew a kite the other day. When was the last time you flew a kite? I bet it has been a long time and it’s so relaxing – once you get it in the air.

Some safety issues. First never fly a kite near power lines. Second, never fly a kite near vehicles. Here’s why.

Theodore Thistle, the little prickly plant he is, was showing off again to Sierra Side Glass. “Hey watch this,” he said. BANG! CRASH! His kite hit Sierra shattering her to pieces. Not to worry. Sierra Side Glass was protected and was new and improved in no time.(www.autoglassprotection.com) Thankfully Sierra and Theodore are still friends!

As Spring rolls on, it will be nice to see if Theodore has sons and daughters as his seeds were blown to the wind last fall. Momma Thelma Thistle will be so proud.

Time to begin our Thistle Travelougue. Next week Theodore and the gang shall travel to the Milk Thistle Organic Dairy Farm in Ghent, NY. This winter has been tough on long time friend Wilber Wiper. He just got a pair of new blades (like new shoes for us), which is a good thing because Winnie Windshield just hates those scratchy, crusty old blades rubbing across the plane. Wilber's new blades just glide along in one smooth motion. No lines. No squeaks. Wilber just wipes all of Winnie's troubles
away. That's just good safety! Winnie wants all us drivers to see clearly. After all, she shows the world before you each and everyday you drive down the road.

Sierra Side Glass is so jealous of Wilber and Winnie. All Sierra gets are fingerprints, children's runny noses, and greasy hair prints, among other things all over her. Sierra has no one to wipe her troubles away unless she gets cleaned or detailed. So usually Sierra just rides around all day with stuff all over her. People still want to look out of her and yet don't do the right thing and keep her clean. Some say Sierra is high maintenance, but really she's not. She's a lovely gal, who only wants to remain clean and clear, like she should! Clearly, she needs just a little love. Frankly, she, and other side glasses like her, deserve it, after all they are looking out for you. Why shouldn't you look out for them? Get some special soaps, moisturizing conditioners,
and exotic perfumes for them. You'll be glad you did. Wiping their troubles
away and your troubles too.

The Legend of the Thistle

We are often asked why do we have a happy thistle? Why a thistle at all? The thistle was found while playing golf a decade ago. The thistle is a protector, just as our auto glass protection plans protect you. Let us tell you about the legend of the Scottish Thistle...

The prickly purple thistle was the emblem of Scotland during the reign of Alexander III (1249 - 1286). Legend has it that the Army of King Haakon of Norway was intent on conquering the Scots and landed on the coast of Largs at night to surprise the sleeping Scottish Clansmen. To move more quietly in the night, the Norse removed their footwear. As they drew near the Scots, they weren't the only thing hiding in the cover of darkness. The Norsemen stepped on one of those prickly purple defenders and let out a yelp in pain, alerting the clansmen. The Scots quickly awoke and were ready to fight! And they won, all thanks to our thistle. So now the thistle is the National Emblem of Scotland. The thistle - the great protector of Scotland!

Our Theodore Thistle has all kinds of great stories to share. After all, it is the great protector, and our happy mascot. Theodore Thistle is a lot like one of the most important things that protects you and your vehicle - the auto glass. The Scots protect the thistle and honor it as their emblem because it protected them. Doesn't your auto glass deserve the same? After all, the auto glass protects you, you should protect it! Are you protected? Do you need the thistle?

Stop Winnie’s abuse NOW!

<o:smarttagtype namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" name="PlaceType"></o:smarttagtype><o:smarttagtype namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" name="PlaceName"></o:smarttagtype><o:smarttagtype namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" name="place"></o:smarttagtype><o:smarttagtype namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" name="PersonName"></o:smarttagtype>
Essay by Theodore A. Winnie is hit on by rocks and salt. She is pooped on by birds, rained on, hailed on, snowed on, scraped, buffed, polished, scratched, wiped. Winnie, and other windshields just like her, sacrifice themselves for our comfort everyday! And, after all that, what thanks does she get? Nothing. Maybe a wash here and again, but nothing. She’s out there on her own, without any sort of protection. I mean, she protects us from all those rocks, debris, and that awful weather.

This is why I feel she should be protected! She needs a life insurance policy of sorts.

Please! Stop windshield abuse today! Make sure Winnie and all her friends are protected… because the hits just keep on coming.

Comments (1 of 3)

Oh Teddy, your kind post just makes all that cold ice melt right off of me! You don’t even know that half of it! I have all kinds of stories of abuse that I can tell you about in the coming weeks. Most recently I was hit by what almost became our national bird – the turkey. I’m going along thinking about which set of polish I should get for my trim then BAM! Feathers everywhere!

Now listen, I’ve been rained on (I like warm rain don’t you?), spat on, pooped on, and just plain hit on everyday (you know how it is girls) but I’ve never had anything like this happen. <3Winnie

Posted By: Winnifred Windshield

Comment (2 of 3)

Why Winnie, I saw a Bald Eagle once on the Big Bone River. It was beautiful and stirring. But seriously Winnie, I feel your pain. I got abused once so bad. My owner’s wife one time got soooo mad, that she took her foot and smashed me into a thousand little pieces. Thank goodness I was already protected. I urge all windshields, and even door glass, and back glass. We do not discriminate against type of glass, year, make or model. So get protected today! Peace, Auggie

Posted By: Auggie Autoglass

Comment (3 of 3)

Thanks Winnie and Auggie. I know we can stop windshield abuse. But we need your help! Call today, and protect these innocent windshields!

Together we can GET A GRIP ON WINDSHIELD ABUSE!

For support and protection, contact the Windshield Protection hotline toll-free at 1-866-575-GRIP.

Posted By: Theodore A. You look back, out your side window, and forward out your windshield for days on end without ever thinking about clear safe vision. I have come up with two great friends that will take us on journeys through life in a vehicle. This is going to be fun for there are so many stories to tell.

Winnie Windshield - She is woman that knows exactly what she wants and is transparent as the day is long. She is stylish, yet curvy, because she knows there are thousands of her friends out there on the road every day looking at her.

Auggie Autoglass - He is rough around the edges, strong, and takes hits all day long on life's travels along the road. But he is a realist and sees the world as he wants. Auggie has hard curves and a slight tint to keep the glare down.

So buckle your seatbelts folks. We are going for a ride around America looking out from Winnie and Auggie. Oh did I forget to mention Theodore Thistle? Why, he is their sidekick with all the jokes and comedy to lighten our day.
